The Chair will:
  • Assume responsibility for the "Terms of Reference".
  • Review the recommendations from the previous year's Chair.
  • Sit as a member on BC Branch Executive Council and Programs Committee.
  • Attend the Branch Annual General Meeting and all corresponding meetings to which this position sits.
  • Provide the Executive Committee and Programs Committee with progress reports at each of their respective meetings (e.g. monies received, monies promised).
  • Liaise with Manufacturer Representatives, Awards Chair, Communications Officer, Programs Chair and Treasurer.
  • Assist the incoming Chair, with respect to responsibilities, when the term of office is completed.
  • As outgoing Chair, thank members for their service on the committee and notify them a new committee will be established for the coming year.
Duties:
  • Maintain levels of sponsorship and terms of sponsorship.
  • Maintain sponsorship letter.
  • Solicit funds from companies, including follow up.
  • Maintain fundraising database.
  • Distribute copy of fundraising database to Programs Chair and President, Vision Portfolio quarterly.
  • Send a “Thank You” correspondence upon receipt of sponsorship.
  • Liaise with Awards Chair to determine how best to negotiate with Award Sponsors.
  • Forward cheques received to Treasurer.
  • Liaise with Programs Chair to update event sponsorship recognition.
  • Liaise with Communications Officer to update sponsorship recognition.
  • Submit a “Fundraising Update” for the quarterly Branch Newsletter.
Appendix to Fundraising Chair Terms of Reference:
  • Levels of Sponsorship
    • Major Benefactor ($3500 or more)
      • Recognition as a sponsor at all CE events, one complimentary registration at the four CE events, one complimentary display booth reserved for both days at the AGM, a copy of each of the quarterly Branch newsletters, corporate logo displayed on our website for the year, with a direct link to their corporate website
      • This level of sponsorship may not be shared between sponsors (for example two sponsors may not donate together to achieve higher sponsorship level)
    • Benefactors ($2000-3499)
      • Copy of each of the quarterly Branch newsletters, name displayed on website
    • Patrons ($1000-1999)
      • Copy of each of the quarterly Branch newsletters, name displayed on website
    • Sponsors ($500-999)
      • Copy of each of the quarterly Branch newsletters, name displayed on website
    • Supporters ($250-499)
      • Copy of each of the quarterly Branch newsletters, name displayed on website
  • Sponsorship may be directed towards one particular event
